Here at BCFC, we pride ourselves in being a group of licensed professionals that specialize in working with children & adolescents. Our clinicians have studied from top-tier, evidence based Universities-  some of which are the best programs in the Country for Clinical Social Work and Counseling.

Each of our therapists focus on treating Childhood Disorders and engaging with families on treating children and teens. Their backgrounds prior to coming to BCFC have all included work with children & often times have occurred in a variety of clinical or professional settings.

Jessica Cortez, LMSW 

Founder

Jessica is the proud owner of BCFC. For the last twelve years, she has specialized in treating children and adolescents using evidence-based therapy.

Over the last four years, Jessica has put together an outstanding team of clinicians. Each one offers specific niche practices and expertise while continuing to serve the children and teen populations. 

Jessica graduated from Michigan State University with her Bachelors in Psychology and graduated from the University of Michigan with her Masters in Clinical Social Work. Learn more about Jessica here.

Shannon Tavis, LMSW

Shannon treats anxiety, anger, depression, ADHD & life adjustments in children & teens. She helps build life-long skills through practice with CBT & DBT.   Read More.

Dr. Cherry Jones, LLMFT

Dr. Jones is a limited license PhD Marriage and Family Therapist. She specializes in treating the family as a unit and working on communication, coping skills. She treats children and teens with anxiety and depression. She also works with parents on strategies at home. Read More.

Olivia Tolonen, LMSW

Olivia specializes in helping middle, high school age and young adults learn about their feelings & create better coping strategies. She uses CBT, DBT, & motivational interviewing. Read More.

Cimone Safilian, MS, TLLP, PhD

Emily Arnett, LLPC

Emily works with elementary-aged children on social skills and emotion regulation. It’s Emily’s goal that clients can have the opportunity to learn,
grow, & heal from life’s adversities. She also works with children dealing with divorce and trauma. Read More.

Lauren Field, LPC

Lauren focuses on helping children & teens with school challenges, life adjustments, and ADHD. Lauren works on behavioral modification and skill sets. She helps parents navigate IEP/504 plans at their school through parent support sessions. Read More.

Erin Mullins,  LMSW

Erin utilizes CBT skills and motivational interviewing to help children and teens with anxiety, depression, and peer problems. She specializes in teaching coping and communication skills.       Read More.

Lauren Whitt

Office Manager

Lauren is our team leader and handles all administrative tasks around the office. From organizing staff and schedules, to coordinating referral sources, to marketing tasks, Lauren manages many facets of BCFC. Lauren is here to assure your time here at our clinic is beneficial and efficient.

Juxtaposed to the commitment to your family, her role as office manager for our clinicians and to the beautiful space is unparalleled. 

Lauren comes to us after having 10+ years of business management experience. Her variety of management opportunities allows her to best attend to the needs of BCFC. 

 

 

Brooklyn is our morning receptionist. She is the contact point during your first phone call and beyond. She is available to answer your questions. Brooklyn’s communication style & responsiveness is a great combination in addressing your family’s needs.
