OUR PROCESS

Families can expect a 1:1 individualized assessment experience with our school psychologist. This approach is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of each child’s abilities and needs, while also ensuring that the assessment process is supportive and encouraging. It’s focused on gathering accurate data about the child’s functioning without placing undue stress on preparation or performance.

How long is the testing process?

Each child undergoes a personalized assessment process. Carly will gather information about the child during a virtual intake process with parents.

After the initial intake, families will come to our West Bloomfield location for the 2 part testing process. Each day, testing will be between 1-2 hours.

After the 2 part testing  – Carly will schedule a follow up virtual session 3 weeks later to go over results and recommendations.

Do I need to prep my child before testing occurs?

Students are not expected to study or prepare for these assessments. The purpose is to capture data on the child’s current level of functioning.

Plans are made to incorporate movement and brain breaks as needed during the assessment to support the child’s comfort and focus. Children are encouraged to ask for breaks whenever they feel the need.
